How to Add the Verse Widget to Your Site
- Choose your options above: a verse of the day (the same verse for everyone on a given day) or a random verse with a "New verse" button, the translation, and a light, dark or automatic theme.
- Copy the code. It is a small iframe plus a text link back to this site.
- Paste it into your page. In WordPress, add a "Custom HTML" block. In Blogger, Wix, Squarespace and most website builders, use an HTML or embed block. On a hand-coded site, paste it wherever you want the verse to appear.
What You Get
- A clean verse card that works on phones, tablets and desktops.
- Public-domain text only: the King James Version, the World English Bible and, in Spanish, the Reina-Valera 1909.
- No account, no cost and no cookies set by the widget.
- Automatic updates. The verse of the day changes each day without you doing anything.
Terms of Use
The widget is free for personal, church, school and non-profit websites, and for blogs. Please keep the small link under the widget; it is how people find this tool. Do not use the widget in a way that suggests the verses were written by you or that this site endorses your content.
Prefer an RSS Feed?
You can also follow the verse of the day in any feed reader with our daily verse RSS feed. A simple JSON version for developers is at /api/verse-of-the-day.
Where Do the Verses Come From?
The verse of the day is chosen from a hand-picked list of encouraging, loving, strengthening and comforting verses, the same list used on our Bible verse of the day page. The random option uses every verse in the Bible, like the main Bible verse randomizer.
